Hon. Tony Avella
New York State Senator
38-50 Bell Boulevard, Suite C
Bayside, NY 11361

Dear Senator Avella,

I am writing to you to express my strong support for your Senate Bills that would facilitate the practice of Muslim faith in New York State.

The bills that I support are:

Senate Bill S.684 – This legislation requires the state and city universities to suspend classes on the religious holidays known as Eid Ul-Fitr and Eid Ul-Adha.

Senate Bill S.731 – The legislation will give organized groups affiliated with the Hindu, Sikh and Islamic faiths the same rights to incorporation as enjoyed by more than 20 other religiously affiliated groups under the current New York State Religious Corporations Law.

Senate Bill S.5900-A – The legislation requires public schools in any city with a population over one million that have at least 25% of students practicing a religious faith with specific dietary restrictions to offer food options that meet such dietary restrictions.

Please let me know how I can be helpful in ensuring that the bills become enacted into law during the current legislative session.

Sincerely,

Please wait...
